Job Description
The Patient Transporter reports to the Patient Transport Supervisor. Under general supervision, the Patient Transporter assists with the hospital based transportation of patients within the MUSC campus. This role provides safe and timely transportation for patients throughout the organization.
Additional Job Description
Education:
High School Degree or Equivalent Work Experience: 0-6months
Physical Requirements:
- Walking/Standing (40%): Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Lifting/Assisting Patients (30%): Ability to lift and assist patients with varying levels of mobility.
- Pushing/Pulling Equipment (20%): Capability to push or pull stretchers, wheelchairs, or carts.
- Manual Dexterity (5%): Requires basic hand coordination for operating equipment.
- Balance/Coordination (5%): Ability to maintain balance and move safely in tight or busy environments.
