Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and three years custodial, grounds keeping or maintenance experience directly related to the area of employment. Physical Requirements: (Note: The following descriptions are applicable to this section: Continuous - 6-8 hours per shift; Frequent - 2-6 hours per shift; Infrequent - 0-2 hours per shift) Ability to perform job functions in an upright position. (Frequent) Ability to perform job functions while walking/mobile. (Frequent) Ability to climb and work from ladders. (Infrequent) Ability to work outdoors in all weather and temperature extremes. (Continuous) Ability to work from elevated areas. (Infrequent) Ability to perform job functions from kneeling positions. (Frequent) Ability to bend at the waist. (Frequent) Ability to lift and carry weights of 50 lbs. or greater, a distance of 20 feet, unassisted. (Frequent) Ability to lift and carry weights of 100 lbs. or greater, assisted. (Frequent) Ability to lift objects, up to 15 lbs., from floor level to height of 36 inches, unassisted. (Frequent) Ability to materials weighing 50 lbs. or more, from ground level to truck beds, unassisted. (Frequent) Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to control movement of power operated equipment, i.e. polishers. (Frequent) Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use. (Continuous) Ability to push/pull carts, mowers, etc. (Frequent) Additional New Requirements: Some positions require ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license. Some positions require successful completion of DHEC certification as a commercial pesticide applicator.
