The Infusion Nurse provides treatment to patients utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process. Our goal is to always deliver the safest and highest quality of care. Members of the Infusion Team include providers, nurses, and pharmacists, all collaborating to develop an appropriate plan of care for the patient and family. Our patient population encompasses a wide range of non-oncology medical specialties. We are seeking a compassionate nurse who values the opportunity to develop positive long-term relationships with the patients. IV Therapy and previous Infusion experience preferred, but not required. We work in a fast-paced environment, but we also know how to have fun on the job!
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: This position has the option to be either 4-10’s (7am-5:30pm) or 5-8’s (8am-4:30pm) Monday through Friday. No weekends or holidays and free on-site parking. Come join this wonderful team!

Job Description
- Coordinates care for infusion patients. Functions as a liaison between registration staff and clinical staff to facilitate the efficient flow of patients throughout the system. Confers with physicians regarding need, urgency, and appropriateness of infusion and clinic visits, ancillaries if needed. Assesses and reviews physician orders to assist with scheduling patients in a timely fashion.
- Manages comprehensive nursing care for patients whose needs range from uncomplicated to complex and rapidly changing. (Assesses subtle changes in patient status; anticipates problems before they occur and implement measures to minimize risk) Organizes and prioritizes nursing care activities considering the needs of the patients and other staff members. (Initiates/facilities/collaborates with all members of the interdisciplinary team to improve care delivered to the patients to ensuring that appropriate referrals are made and completed).
- Coordinates and manages care by applying analytical reasoning, reflection, rational problem solving skills, using evidence based information and clinical judgment.
- Functions as a patient/family advocate. Collaborates with physicians to monitor, evaluate and trend patient responses to treatments during duration of status as a patient.
- Work with support staff to maximize efficiency in infusion scheduling. Requires familiarity with both IDX and EMR. Document all patient care activities in the electronic medical record to include disposition of patient telephone calls, medication list, etc. Generates ancillary requests in practice partner and updates medicines as needed in EMR (electronic medical record).
- Participates in performance improvement /research activities designed to improve patient care, and/or organizational processes.
Additional Job Description
LPN I Minimum Training and Education: Graduate from an accredited Practical Nurse program. Licensed as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state.
LPN Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current South Carolina LPN License or compact state license. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Physical Requirements: Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
