Job Description

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Ambulatory Strategic Operations, the Ambulatory Analyst supports ambulatory clinics by analyzing and improving operational processes, enhancing clinic flow, and optimizing data-driven decision-making. This role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and reporting data, implementing process improvements, providing operational efficiency training, and leveraging Epic Clinician Builder tools to support efficient clinic workflows. The Analyst leads projects focused on operational improvements and informatics initiatives within ambulatory clinics. The Analyst will collaborate with IT teams to identify new Epic features, modules, or enhancements that support ambulatory-specific needs and improve operational efficiency. The Analyst will also inform ambulatory teams of upcoming Epic enhancements and benefits, ensuring leaders and staff are prepared to integrate them into workflows.


Education and Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a professional healthcare discipline, IT degree, or related field. Two (2) years of experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on operations, informatics, data analysis, and/or staff training, preferably in an ambulatory or clinical setting. Experience with data analysis software, Microsoft Suite, and electronic health record systems (Epic preferred). Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong organizational skills. Must be able to communicate with all levels of management and employees, both orally and in writing. Self- starter with excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills to collaborate with Ambulatory Services Leadership.

Degree of Supervision

Ability to manage time efficiently and be able to work with a limited degree of supervision.

Licensures, Registrations, Certifications

EPIC Cogito Certification and Epic Clinician Builder Certification are required within first year of hire.

Physical Requirements

Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36” to overhead 20 lbs. Frequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces. Infrequently work outside in temperature extremes.
