Job Description Summary

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) reports to the Nurse Manager for Holding (Preop), PACU, and Ambulatory Pre/Post units. The Assistant Nurse Manager supports the unit’s, service lines and the MUSC’s Medical Center Pillar goals. Goals include achievement of clinical and quality measures, operational efficiency, financial targets as well as population and age specific needs of the departments. The ANM will be responsible for the daily operations of Chuck Dawley Pre/Post, West Campus Pre/Post, Rutledge Tower Holding Room, and Rutledge Tower PACU departments as well as education and competency compliance for these areas.

Job Description

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) reports to the Nurse Manager for Holding (Preop), PACU, and Ambulatory Pre/Post units. Monday - Friday 8am- 4:30pm, no weekends, no major holidays.

Additional Job Description

Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited college/university; Master of Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in lieu of BSN. If BSN only, a Master's degree in a related field or DNP completion expected within 4 years of hire date required. Three years related work experience as a registered nurse required. Extensive knowledge of the unit's patient population, health care trends, community and regional resources and service availability to these populations is required. An ability to establish working relationships with diverse groups and individuals, medical staff and other health care disciplines. Certification in specialty area preferred or completion within one year of eligibility strongly encouraged. Demonstrated knowledge in the American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nursing (ASPAN) standards is essential.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. Certification in specialty area preferred or completion within one year of eligibility is strongly encouraged.

Monday - Friday 8am- 4:30pm, no weekends, no major holidays.
