Job Description

Job Duties:

30% - Post Award: Monitors grant spending under the appropriate guidelines of the institution, sponsor, department and any regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with spending guidelines. Supplies principal investigators with financial status reports ensuring that they are immediately aware of the potential for a deficit balance and provides recommendations. Completes and Submits Cost/Transfer Forms, with all required supporting documentation as requested by PIs or GCA affiliate.

30% - Pre-Award: Assist Principle Investigators (PI’s) in preparing grant proposals, applications, and contracts for the Department of Otolaryngology. Reviews grant applications and contracts to ensure accuracy and recommend changes prior to submission based on the scope and goal of the award balanced with departmental priorities. Serves as liaison between the sponsor, the PI, department and institutional contacts/resources (ORSP, OGCA).

20% - Post Award: Prepares monthly reports in support of grants, contracts, and non-sponsored projects, including Effort Reports, PI Available Balance Reports and/or other reports requested by Principal Investigators. Ensures that expenditures are consistent with the terms of State and/or grants and contracts, the policies of the sponsoring agencies and organizations, and the policies and procedures of MUSC and the State of South Carolina. If needed, completes budget revisions with input from the PI.

10% - Post Award: Coordinates with principal investigators and the Administrative Manager on personnel resource management activities. Including but not limited to personnel action request changes and transfers/terminations. Processes all Costing Allocations and Payroll Accounting Adjustment actions to include the completion of Affiliate Salary Worksheets.

5% - Other: Support of departmental research team as needed.

5% - Other: Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and three years business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration experience.
