Job Description
- Manages and implements clinical and non-clinical policies, procedures, and protocols for the Arts in Healing department.
- Manages day-to-day clinical and non-clinical integrative programming; incorporating best practices, metrics, goals, strategies, education and communications plans.
- Ensures that all clinical staff maintain national certifications, licensure and clinical field advocacy efforts in order to grow and sustain ethical/best practice programming.
- Works collaboratively with external partners to develop clinical programming for various local groups, as well as for individual treatment sessions.
- Works collaboratively with Development, Government Relations, Patient and Family Centered Care and Diversity and Inclusion and various clinical and non-clinical care team staff to cultivate and grow community needs and research opportunities.
- Works collaboratively and under the guidance of, as appropriate, the MUSC Office of Development or the Office of Grants Administration to coordinate the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of philanthropic or funded grant support for Arts in Healing through relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the MUSC Health System.
- Works collaboratively with MUSC RHN to develop and expand clinical Arts in Healing programming for hospitals as well as community partners across the MUSC Health System.
- Manages operational and budgetary oversight for the Arts in Healing department within the clinical and non-clinical programs including, but not limited to, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, art curation, and beyond.
Additional Job Description
Education:
- Clinical Master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapy, including but not limited to Art Therapy or Music Therapy.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience of which three must be supervisory
- Must hold a national board-certification administered by governing association/board; Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB) or Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT)
- Healthcare experience required
- Research and grant writing experience required
- Strong interpersonal skills, creative, flexible, and resourceful
- Ability to work effectively with donor prospects
- Active member and proponent of the local arts community
- Ability to work collaboratively with care team members at all levels of the MUSC enterprise
- Ability to manage multiple projects and appropriately prioritize departmental needs and goals
