Job Description
The IONM Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the 24/7 IONM operations for both Adult and Pediatric Services as well as supervising the IONM Specialist staff. In collaboration with the Medical Director, the IONM Coordinator supports the Clinical Neurophysiology Services department, ICCE and Medical Center goals. Goals include achievement of clinical and quality measures, operational efficiency, financial targets, population/age specific needs of the department, as well as the needed components to maintain our ABRET IONM Lab accreditation. Under general supervision of the MD, the IONM Coordinator also supports in staffing with recording by means of electronic equipment, neurophysiologic potentials for the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases and conditions involving the nervous system. The position demonstrates competence and either coordinates the immediate availability and oversight by an MD or has availability to provide assistance during all procedures to the IONM staff.
Additional Job Description
- Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) and a minimum of five years experience in intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring.
- Certification in one or more neurodiagnostic registries (EEG, R EP T, R NCS T), or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is also required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
