One year only non-ACGME fellowship position (Jr. Faculty) beginning July 1, 2025.
This non-ACGME fellowship is for one-year and is focused on educating a limited number of trainees in advanced Body Imaging and producing the highest quality practitioners who aim to be leaders in the field and excellent clinical consulates. The position is a junior faculty (Clinical Instructor) position within the MUSC College of Medicine.
MUSC Minimum Requirements:
M.D. or equivalent
Clinical work and training will be performed in the MUSC Hospital affiliated sites. Will work closely with referring physicians so that appropriate studies are performed. Active participation in resident and medical student teaching; research interests are encouraged.
Job Requirements: Applicant must have completed a 4-year radiology residency program (MD or DO applicants accepted) and be board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Radiology. Applicant must be able to obtain a permanent SC medical license prior to the start of the fellowship.
Clinical Experience
- The Body Imaging Fellowship provides extensive experience in abdominal and pelvic MRI as well as advanced CT techniques including Dual Energy and Photon Counting CT. Options for electives (eg. cardiac imaging) are available as well as opportunities to be involved in ultrasound and ultrasound guided procedures.
- The Body Imaging Division works hand in hand with other radiology divisions and numerous clinical departments throughout the larger MUSC system. Our division is primarily responsible for at least 4 nationally accredited Tumor Boards which cover a range of clinical specialty areas.
- Minimal “call” responsibilities in the early evenings or weekend days (no overnight) within the division are expected of fellows and there are opportunities for compensated voluntary call outside the division for those interested.
Educational Program
Our educational program is specifically designed for the advanced trainee who is a motivated learner. Specifics include:
- In depth education in advanced Body MRI protocol design and interpretation of images.
- Weekly tumor boards led by the Body Imaging fellows with attending support.
- Work with advanced AI tools.
- Dual energy, photon counting and CT scanning interpretation.
- Availability to do basic US guided procedures.
- Quarterly departmental grand rounds.
- Opportunities for paid moonlighting
Research Opportunities
Fellows are encouraged and expected to participate in an academic project during their fellowship. They are provided with the time, resources, and mentorship necessary to be successful in this endeavor. Research projects can be devised by the fellow or they may join one of the many ongoing projects within the division.
