Job Description

Under the direction of the Admit Transfer Center Manager, Admit Transfer RN ensures and monitors bed availability, facilitates all admissions, and in house transfers for MUSC Health.

Additional Job Description

Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma

degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully

obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more

details. A minimum of five years of work experience as a registered nurse required. Employee should

possess; the ability to work with minimum supervision, excellent communication skills, organizational and

administrative skills, ability to interact with all level of employees, function in a stressful environment,

encourage and assist with team building, excellent writing and verbal skills, the ability to maintain the

confidentiality of sensitive information, both patient and employee. Resources and workshops are provided

for continued growth and development. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of

Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American

Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red

Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
