Job Description Summary
The System Associate Chief Operating Officer of Infusion Services reports to the System Chief Operating Officer and, in collaboration with local market leadership, is responsible for overseeing the operations of a group of infusion sites and locations across the MUSC Health Enterprise (de facto CEO of Infusion Services for the System) . The Associate Chief participates in long-range strategic planning and short-range implementation to ensure sites are managed in a consistent manner that embraces patient-centered service, service excellence standards and efficient operational processes. In addition to providing operational oversight, this role is a key collaborator with the relevant departments and a thought leader in infusion quality and safety, coordination of infusion care across the continuum, use of technological tools and solutions, metrics reporting, customer service, and process improvement.Entity

System Associate Chief Operating Officer – Infusion Services
Job Duties:
The System Associate Chief Operating Officer of Infusion Services reports to the System Chief Operating Officer and, in collaboration with local market leadership, is responsible for overseeing the operations of a group of infusion sites and locations across the MUSC Health Enterprise (de facto CEO of Infusion Services for the System) . The Associate Chief participates in long-range strategic planning and short-range implementation to ensure sites are managed in a consistent manner that embraces patient-centered service, service excellence standards and efficient operational processes. In addition to providing operational oversight, this role is a key collaborator with the relevant departments and a thought leader in infusion quality and safety, coordination of infusion care across the continuum, use of technological tools and solutions, metrics reporting, customer service, and process improvement.
Minimum Training and Education:
Master’s degree in healthcare related field such as a Master of Healthcare Administration or Master of Business Administration is preferred. Bachelor’s degree health care management, business administration or a related degree required. Five (10) years of management work experience in ambulatory and/or inpatient care leadership role or appropriate clinical area required; demonstrated ability to work effectively with physician leaders; talent in the selection and mentoring of a high-quality, effective team; proven ability to lead change, organize teams, and delegate responsibility appropriately; proven ability to use data to drive performance improvement; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Duties:
Financial Stewardship – Oversight of the overall financial performance of the infusion and clinics. In conjunction with Regional Leadership, develop annual operating and capital budgets. Monitor and analyze budgetary trends. Implement strategies to increase revenue/decrease costs and effectively manage personnel, supply and equipment resources. Make necessary adjustments to ensure goals are achieved and/or meet budget projections. Recognize opportunities for increases in productivity, cost savings, and revenue and decrease the leakage of referrals to competitors.
Assumes overall responsibility for the operations of MUSC Health’s infusion clinics. Develops structures and processes that ensure effective daily operation that coordinate patient care, optimize efficiency and throughput. Collaborate with others to plan and manage strategic initiatives aimed at achieving MUSC Health’s organizational goals including access to care, volume, patient experience, physician satisfaction, quality, and other performance metrics.
Patient and Family Centered Service Delivery Model – Establish and maintain a patient-centered service delivery model, consistent amongst all infusion clinics, measured by patient satisfaction with the services rendered. Focus on customer service and foster an environment that promotes high quality, efficient, and patient-centered care.
Quality and Safety – Ensure care team members provide the highest quality of care and are following Federal, State and other regulatory agency standards. Collaborate with Quality Officers in establishing, implementing and maintaining patient care, quality and service standards.
Leadership and Staff Development – Provide leadership to care team members and leaders within Infusion Services across the MUSC Health System in order to direct day to day operations, identify improvement opportunities, monitor success, and provide professional development. Ensure alignment of organizational goals amongst infusion leaders and staff. Create an environment conducive to retaining staff and to learning and implement strategies to improve employee engagement.
Network integrity and growth – Responsible for recapturing leakage and for growing the delivery of infusion services both in fixed locations and by using an “at home” model.
Physical Requirements:
Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing 20 lbs (+/-) unassisted. Lift from 36” to overhead 15 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
