Job Description
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a Board Certified/Eligible MFM to join our robust faculty at the level of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of teamwork and a will help to build and expand our practice caring for diverse patients. They will demonstrate a commitment to teaching, excellent communication skills, and a strong interest in academics.
As a Maternal-Fetal Medicine sub-specialist, your clinical responsibilities will consist primarily of seeing high-risk OB/GYN patients in an outpatient setting, reading and performing ultrasounds, supervising genetic counseling, and performing appropriate MFM surgical and invasive procedures. In addition, you will provide admission, discharge, and rounding on inpatients on the obstetrics (including labor and delivery) service. You will also be responsible for providing consultative services for OB/GYN patients for a wide variety of referring physicians from MUSC and throughout South Carolina. You will provide the above services Monday through Friday at the Prenatal Wellness Center or our outreach clinics. In addition, you will be expected to take MFM and OB/GYN call when assigned or as needed by the Department. You may also be responsible for traveling to other parts of South Carolina to perform MFM services for contracts for your division.

About the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Sub-Specialists Division
All inpatient care is delivered on our main campus in downtown Charleston, with obstetrical care housed in our new state-of-the-art facility, the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, and the Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion.
MUSC Children’s Hospital is consistently ranked among U.S. News & World Report’s list of “America’s Best Children’s Hospitals,” and is the only quaternary academic medical center in the state of South Carolina. The new MUSC Children’s Pediatric Subspecialty R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion offers comprehensive outpatient pediatric-only services, including specialty clinics, outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging, infusion procedures, and support services such as lab and pharmacy.
