Job Description Summary

The Pediatrics Research Group are searching for a candidate to expand the team. The candidate will provide administrative and technical support for programs within the Pediatric Research Group serving as a Research Assistant. Job Description

Job Purpose: To provide administrative and technical support for programs within the Pediatric Research Group serving as a Research Assistant. Responsibilities may include the recruitment of study participants, data entry and filing, scheduling study visits and assist with the processing of study specimens collected. Must have supervision of Program Coordinator II.

Will be able to serve as lead coordinator for minimal risk studies.

This entry level position is envisioned as a springboard to establish a career development pipeline for professional Research Coordinators.

This position may be eligible for partial remote work after an orientation period.

Duties:

Research Operations- Patient Visits 35%

Provides administrative support of recruitment strategies prepares mailings, distributes flyers, phone marketing, etc. Screens potential subjects via telephone interviews or conducts basic medical chart review for inclusion criteria for minimal risk studies. May screen for greater than minimal risk studies under supervision. Schedules study visits and maintains subject level documentation for minimal risk studies or for other studies under direct supervision. Conducts visits for minimal risk studies independently. May also perform assessments for minimal risk studies or for greater than minimal risk studies under direct supervision. Collects data directly from participant or from the electronic medical record. Collects, prepares, ships, and/or maintains inventory of biological research specimens and processes and ships labs under the direct supervision of PC II. Conducts and/or documents consent for participants in minimal risk studies. May conduct consent for studies greater than minimal risk under direct supervision. Prepares for study monitoring and study audit visits. May assist with addressing findings and resolving queries under supervision. Collects, prepares, or processes adverse events under supervision. Reviews study participant charges in the medical record and ensures the route according to the Study Billing Plan

Data and Informatics: 30%

Complete case report forms and enters data into EDC system(s). Resolves data queries. Assists with the creation of simple data collection forms (surveys, CRFs, and/or source documents)

Research Operations -Regulatory 10%

Files regulatory documents and reports into regulatory folder/binder. Creates a broad array of regulatory submissions (initial study applications) for minimal risk studies. Creates and submits simple regulatory reports (personnel amendments and continuing review applications) to the IRB. Administratively files external SAE reports or IRB SAE reports

Communication: 10%

Schedules and coordinates team meetings. Assists with preparing meeting documents.

Ethics and Participant Safety: 5%

Understands the ethical conduct of research and safeguards needed when conducting human subjects research activities. Under supervision, adheres to management plans related to conflict of interest.

Site and Study Management: 5%

Maintain study compliance with institutional requirements and other policies and maintains the Delegation of Authority Logs

Other Duties as Assigned 5%

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A high school diploma and four years of relevant program experience. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
