Job Description Summary

Program Assistant is needed to work on a variety of research projects in Pediatric Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. The study projects relate to rural and racial health disparities and improving access to care for children with sleep-disordered breathing. In addition, there will be a clinical trial in which to enroll patients. The Assistant will work with researchers, clinicians and patients/caregivers. Administrative duties will include collaborating on IRB submission, budget management, and research studies.

Job Description

Job Duties:

Collaborate on research study activities as specified in the research study protocols, included but not limited to: Managing patient screening, recruitment, and enrollment into studies; conduct in-depth patient, caregiver, and health care provider interviews; perform data entry and data management activities; perform chart abstractions from patient medical records; perform literature reviews and assist with grant-writing and manuscript development tasks (30%)

Use REDCAP to enter data. Creates and develops databases using research methodology knowledge. Assists with the creation of data collection forms (surveys or source documents) (25%)

Collaborate with members of the research team in developing and implementing strategies for effective management of studies (20%)

Reviewing regulatory documentation and participate in reporting and communications for scientific and IRB review (20%)

Other duties as assigned (5%)

MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:

A high school diploma and two years relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
