Job Description Summary

The Administrative Manager - Human Resources reports directly to the Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration and manages all facets of human resources for the College of Dental Medicine. The Administrative Manager - Human Resources provides subject matter expertise on all aspects of Human Resources to the Dean, Chairs, other leaders, Faculty and Staff. Additionally, provides expertise in regards to MUSC University human resources policies and oversees all human resources to include but not limited to procedures, recruitment, on-boarding/orientation, compliance and employee development for the College of Dental Medicine. This position implements and maintains best practices and processes to support the College of Dental Medicine and strategizes with the Assistant Dean and Senior Director of Finance and Administration to resolve human resource related issues. This position is a member of the Finance and Administration leadership team and serves as the liaison with University Human Resources to ensure continuity of policy interpretation and timely procedure implementation.

Job Summary:

The Administrative Manager - Human Resources provides subject matter expertise on all aspects of Human Resources to the Dean, Chairs, other leaders, Faculty and Staff. Additionally, provides expertise in regards to MUSC University human resources policies and oversees all human resources to include but not limited to procedures, recruitment, on-boarding/orientation, compliance and employee development for the College of Dental Medicine. This position implements and maintains best practices and processes to support the College of Dental Medicine and strategizes with the Assistant Dean and Senior Director of Finance and Administration to resolve human resource related issues. Payband/Salary Range: UNIV 07: $52,357.00 - $74,613.00 - $96,869.00

Job Duties:

25% - Manages the overall human resources for the College personnel actions to including hiring, termination, employee relations and payroll. Coordinates all personnel functions to include employee action requests, posting recruitment positions, salary changes, and coordination of visa applications for incoming international employees. Oversees the tracking of all College budgeted positions and provides monthly reports to leadership on status of all positions. Provides assistance with yearly budget process as it relates to position budgeting. Completes in-depth review of all position description evaluations, provides salary analysis for all faculty and staff hiring as well as additional duty requests. - (Essential)

25% - Serves as the employee relations contact for College leaders, faculty, staff, and supervisors. Advises College leaders and employees on conflict resolution and ensures adherence to all institutional and departmental policies and procedures. Reviews and updates College policies and procedures on at least a yearly basis or as appropriate. - (Essential)

20% - Oversees hiring, recruitment, onboarding and exit process for all College Staff. Ensures departments within College train all faculty and staff on timekeeping and leave reporting requirements. Provides onboarding for all staff and ensures training plan is in place and monitored for all new hires following the principles of MUSC Excellence. Completes exit interviews with all staff employees before last day of work. - (Essential)

10% - Collaborates with Faculty Affairs Manager in the faculty hiring, recruitment, and onboarding process to include all required documentation for faculty appointments, credentialing, licensing, and resource needs. Provide annual faculty salary data for the annual faculty contract and renewal process. Reviews all faculty offer letters and ensures consistency in all offer letters and templates. - (Essential)

5% - Manages the employee performance evaluation system. Serves as an advisor and reviewer of employee evaluations to ensure compliance with Institutional and College policies. - (Essential)

5% - Coordinates with College Leadership to develop strategic staffing projections, incorporating the College’s strategic plan, finances, and projected growth. - (Essential)

5% - Coordinates all employee recognition and engagement programs across the College. - (Essential)

5% - Other duties as assigned. - (Essential)

MUSC Minimum Training and Experience Requirements:

A bachelor's degree and four years relevant experience in administrative services, public administration or business management.

Preferred Experience & Additional Skills:

• Knowledge of MUSC personnel procedures, practices, and policies.

• Masters Degree

• Must be able to communicate effectively in all forms

• Computer literacy to include high proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access) and working knowledge of various administrative software programs, Axiom Budget System, ERP systems, TerraDotta (visas), Visio, Adobe Pro, Verge, Interfolio, FIM/Identity Manager preferred.
