Job Description Summary
The Telepathology Information Specialist I reports to the Anatomic Pathology Manager. This position digitizes images of human tissue from microscopic slides in support of diagnostic evaluations by anatomic pathologists. Additionally, the Telepathology Information Specialist supports departmental internal and external consultative services for continuum of patient care, legal requests, and specimen preservation requests. The Telepathology Information Specialist I responds to requests for specimens, tissue blocks, slides, and maintains a detailed tracking system of all pathology materials and records.Entity

Job Description

Additional Job Description
High School Diploma or GED and certification as a Clinical Lab Assistant by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent registry; or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); or certified as a phlebotomist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent registry; or one year work experience in a health care setting required. Typing Speed: 25 corrected wpm required. Demonstrated customer service work experience required.
