Reporting to the Export Operational Care Supervisor and based within a team of export specialists, this role is responsible for export operations, including bookings with carriers and arranging some transport as needed, alongside the required documentation for a wide range of clients. Working in close collaboration with your peers within the Customer Care Team, your responsibility is to ensure operational requirements are met to help deliver overall customer excellence
How you create impact
- Documentation Excellence: Accurately and efficiently generate all required export sea shipment documentation.
- Shipment Coordination: Arrange bookings and manage amendments directly with shipping lines, maintaining regular communication with carriers and suppliers.
- Cargo Visibility & Order Management: Oversee order allocations and ensure full cargo and documentation visibility across Kuehne+Nagel’s digital platforms.
- Vendor Cost Management: Apply strong financial acumen to manage vendor costs effectively.
- Operational Excellence: Deliver consistent, high-quality service throughout the entire sea logistics shipment cycle.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Customer Care Team and internal departments to meet customer expectations.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and governance requirements.
- Claims & Dispute Resolution: Provide support in resolving claims and disputes promptly and professionally.
What we would like you to bring
- Proven Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years in freight forwarding or logistics within a New Zealand-based forwarder, with strong expertise in export sea logistics operations.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Impeccable interpersonal abilities and a collaborative mindset to engage positively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to tasks, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all responsibilities.
- Resilience Under Pressure: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Team-Oriented Attitude: A positive outlook, strong team spirit, and the ability to work cross-functionally across the business.
