As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations. The QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health, Environment & Security) Specialist supports the implementation and maintenance of Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (QSHE) programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This role is responsible for training, inspections, document management, and day-to-day safety and quality operations. This job is located in San Antonio, TX and working schedule is Monday to Friday from 8am-5pm.

How you create impact

  • Conduct onboarding training, including QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health, Environment & Security) protocols covering safety, quality, environmental standards, security, and hazardous materials management.
  • Assist in the development and execution of Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP) training.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new employees across key operational areas, including receiving, stockroom, inspection, and shipping.
  • Organize and conduct QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health, Environment & Security) refresher training to maintain compliance and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate and track Dangerous Goods training to meet regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Facilitate training on work instructions, process documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) updates/modifications.
  • Administer Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training for new drivers and recertifications for existing operators.
  • Conduct equipment training for all operational areas to ensure safe and efficient usage.
  • Maintain an updated training matrix, ensuring accurate employee records for compliance and audits.
  • Track and update Dangerous Goods training certifications, ensuring all employees remain qualified.
  • Identify and report safety concerns, implementing corrective actions to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Perform monthly safety, sanitation, and security inspections, addressing any identified issues.
  • Submit and manage safety and security-related work orders to resolve operational hazards.
  • Communicate updates from the National QSHE team, ensuring employees are informed of new policies and regulations.
  • Maintain and regularly update the company's Risk Matrix to reflect ongoing safety assessments.
  • Ensure calibration records and IMTE logs remain current, verifying equipment functionality and compliance.
  • Support document control by managing local work instructions, Standard Operating Sheets (SOS), and process documentation, implementing updates as needed.
  • Oversee local forms management, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for operational needs.
  • Assist in audit preparation, ensuring readiness for corporate, customer, and regulatory inspections.
  • Provide support for quality audits, ensuring adherence to internal and external standards.
  • Maintain inventory of safety supplies for office and warehouse operations.

What we would like you to bring

  • Ensure an ongoing interface between the suppliers and Kuehne+Nagel´s quality representatives.
    Identify proactively quality issues and to put in place corrective actions and measures.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in related field. (Experience in Freight Forwarding or Oil&Gas Logistics is a plus).
  • ISO9001 / ISO14001 auditor certificate is preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Must display a can-do attitude along with a Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Has to be able to provide leadership via a matrix organization and demonstrate they are a strong team player.
