Knight’s Companies is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant for our home office in Summerville. Knight’s is continuing to expand operations across multiple markets and this individual will be key in helping to prepare, analyze and provide timely financial data to management.

What you will be doing:

• Perform month end close process.
• Cash reconciliations.
• AP/AR account reconciliations.
• Inventory adjustments.
• Sales entries/reconciliations.
• Payroll entries/accruals.
• Preparing monthly sales tax returns for all divisions and companies.
• Occasional onsite inventory observations.
• Assist in the preparation of Quarterly IFTA returns.
• Assist in the preparation of Quarterly financial statements.
• Other various duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong fundamental understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
• Ability to think critically and analyze various data.
• Self-starter; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be organized and detailed oriented and committed to accuracy.
• Commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Must be Excel proficient (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.); ability to learn various accounting and computer systems.
• Confidentially is required in this role.

Physical Demands:

• Able to safely lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
• Able to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
• Able to sit for extended periods, stand, walk, type, carry, push, and bend.
• Able to work primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
• Able to see and read computer monitors.
