The Electrical Engineer will be an integral member of an engineering design team and focus on design, development and integration of electrical systems including wiring harnesses, components and third-party solutions to meet customer and regulatory requirements. The Engineer will help to refine and develop company electrical design standards and work in cross functional teams to achieve project objectives within time and budget and with the right technical quality.

This role is located in Summerville, SC and eligible for entry-level, and experienced Electrical Engineers!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and uses Electrical design principles, standards, analytics and concepts to design and integrate new and existing technology into lift trucks
  • Designs and creates drawings for electrical wiring harnesses, power cables, electrical components, including design drawings and schematics
  • Maintains and improves new and existing lift truck electrical, software and control systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical wiring, components, and control systems on lift trucks and determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Collaborates with team to develop and refine company electrical design standards
  • Checks work of other electrical engineers and technicians and provides feedback as needed
  • Address customer- and supplier-driven change requests and warranty issues relating to electrical designs on lift trucks
  • Coordinate work with Testing, Manufacturing, Quality, Product Support, and Procurement, as well as suppliers on product electrical design problems, quality issues, product improvements, and cost reductions

Tasks and Qualifications:

Qualifications:
    • Electrical design experience with CAD (2D & 3D), preferably E3 and NX
    • Hands-on experience and understanding of electrical design principles, practices, and troubleshooting techniques
    • Experience with creating / maintaining electrical schematics and designing wire harnesses in mobile equipment (preferred)
    • Knowledge or experience with vehicle CAN communication protocols and embedded software
    • Effective collaboration skills with diverse, and multinational colleagues

    Education:

    • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology required
