Ingevity Corporation is seeking a Logistics Compliance and Asset Manager to join the Supply Chain team. This position is responsible for managing Ingevity’s logistics compliance procedures for all modes of transportation and to manage physical supply chain assets, including railcars, bulk-tanks, customer-consigned tanks, chassis, and more. Additionally, this role will act as the primary plant liaison to ensure supply chain functions and plant operations are in alignment with all global transportation, environmental, and safety regulations. Proficiency in technical, analytical, communication, logistics, and teamwork skills will lead to success.
How you will impact Ingevity:
Manage railcar fleet maintenance associated with full-service railcar lease, including HM 216B railcar requalification; mobile and shop repair coordination with invoice review and approval; and tankcar/hopper cleaning coordination for change of service, requalification, or lease-release preparation.
Global responsibility for HazMat/Dangerous Goods, including expert level understanding of DOT/FRA/IMDG/IATA regulations. Hazmat shipper certification must be in good standing.
Responsible for overseeing and/or managing all unplanned inspections form DOT/FRA regulators across all domestic manufacturing location and 3rd-party logistics partners
Primary contact and responsible for responding to product spills in transportation reported to CHEMTREC emergency response coordinator
Coordinate internally and with 3rd-party logistics partners to manage end-of-lease bulk chemical tank cleanings
Manage operations of corporate-level transportation assets including container chassis, isotainers, and customer-consigned telemetry tanks, concentrating on effective utilization commensurate with regional demand, regulatory/required maintenance, expense control, lease review, and potential technological improvements
Serve as Supply Chain’s global expert regarding proper hazard classification designation, placards, labels, and more for all hazmat review of New- and/or Extend-SKU requests
Execute SHE Spot Audits of Plants and 3rd-party logistics partners, including warehouses, terminals, and transloader
Lead corporate-wide efforts to optimize and standardize container loading/unloading procedures across all plants
What you need to succeed:
A minimum of 7 years supply chain and/or plant operations experience to include the following:
o Logistics/transportation management
o Compliance/Safety oversight
o Supervisory experience in Loading/Unloading operations
Prior supply chain planning experience moving products in distribution or manufacturing industry required; chemical manufacturing preferred
Proficient understanding of logistics and transportation management to include rail, truck, ISO/container shipping and regulations
Experience with SAP or comparable ERP system preferred
Proven ability to work under pressure at a fast pace required
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across various levels of the organization is required, including operational contacts and planners at supplier-mills
Proven ability to coordinate diverse groups to achieve defined endpoints in support of critical business processes
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required
Ability to communicate effectively and present information confidently across a wide range of audiences (e.g., upper management, suppliers, production, supply chain, finance, 3POs)
Flexible schedule to accommodate and coordinate solutions, occasionally after hours and usually by phone, required
10% travel possible to train/audit how to safely load/unload/transload product, in a project management role, or to build relationships.
