Position Overview:

This role will report to the Accounting Close Manager. A successful candidate would be a self-motivated and experienced accountant with a constant drive for process improvement. Interest in developing detailed knowledge/ownership in systems (SAP S4 HANA, Blackline, Coupa) is critical to success in this role. The ability to work on projects across diverse groups is required. The Intermediate Corporate accountant would assist with Ingevity’s accounting books and records.

How you will impact Ingevity:

• Responsible for the monthly close process for corporate accounting for key areas like prepaid accounts, accounts payable, and accruals.
• Lead management of SAP and Blackline system administration.
• Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations in Blackline.
• Prepare flux analysis of balance sheet accounts
• Perform accounting and reporting-related SOX controls.
• Work with external and internal auditors to ensure compliance with quarterly and annual audit requirements.
• Lead process improvement areas in R2R, P2P, and I2C processes working with our outsourced business partner shared service function.
• Create and review desktop procedures for accounting processes.
• Work with cross-functional groups on issues and special projects.

What you need to succeed:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting Required
• CPA a plus
• 2-4 years of accounting experience
• Public accounting experience is a plus
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a matrix organization
• Knowledge of SAP S4 HANA a plus, specifically FI, CO, and MM modules
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
