About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

Google’s Technical Infrastructure (TI) organization builds, operates, and maintains the infrastructure that makes Google possible. This covers everything from data centers and global networks to the hardware and software running on them. At the core is the Global Capacity Delivery organization (GCD) that delivers the compute capability that powers Google and the Google Cloud Platform.

The Product Manufacturing and Build Management (PMBM) team is part of the Global Manufacturing Operations team within GCD. We’re responsible for optimizing and ensuring success of the manufacturing production for servers, machine learning, and networking equipment for Google’s data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with our Machines Delivery, Manufacturing Engineering, and Logistics teams to develop and execute build planning strategies, analytics, and scheduling processes that enable on-time and predictable delivery to our data centers in a dynamic product and supply base environment.
  • Develop processes to enable constraint planning processes and mitigation across multiple Contract Manufacturers in supply and labor constrained environments.
  • Manage complex projects from inception through completion. Ensure requirements are complete and scope is well defined with multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Drive process development, iterative optimizations and tool development in support of ongoing evolution of our team.
  • Be the primary build plan and production volume liaison with Planning, NPI, and CM for product bring up and launch. Collaborate across GCD to identify supply chain risks and mitigation opportunities to ensure a smooth transition to volume production outputs.
