The opportunity

Reporting to the IT Network Admin Sr. Manager, the Network Administrator will provide operational, technical, and project support for the organization’s telecommunications, networking, voice, data, and security services. The successful candidate will help resolve service and equipment issues, support infrastructure design and engineering changes, and contribute to the ongoing reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the telecommunications environment.

The role

  • Deliver high-quality technical support and maintain strong customer service standards when resolving telecommunications equipment and service issues.
  • Analyze the current telecommunications and network architecture, identify improvement opportunities, and support the implementation of new business requirements.
  • Perform capacity planning, monitor system performance, and prepare reports for telecommunications platforms and related services.
  • Contribute to business continuity planning by identifying risks, recommending solutions, and supporting initiatives that improve recovery time objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external contractors, and technology vendors to coordinate troubleshooting, service delivery, and project activities.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for voice, data, network, and security services across the organization.
  • Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotation schedules as required.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Operations, and Project teams locally and internationally to support service delivery and technology initiatives.
  • Act as Level 3 support for Service Desk escalations related to telecommunications, networking, voice, data, and security services.

The requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in telecommunications, networking, or a related infrastructure support function.
  • Cisco certifications or equivalent hands-on experience are considered an asset, including:
    • CCNP or CCIE Routing and Switching
    • CCNP Wireless
    • CCVP Voice
    • Cisco Firepower Firewall
  • Knowledge of Silver Peak SD-WAN, F5 technologies, Linux systems, and scripting languages is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to travel is required to support local and regional sites.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rotation, approximately once every five weeks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French and Spanish are considered assets.
