The opportunity
- Performs clerical functions associated with inbound and outbound freight within the Logistics department.
- Organizes and sets up all documentation for the processing of freight in a timely manner.
- Maintains Inbound/Outbound Driver Log for SDC.
- Tracks inbound international shipments from origin to final destination for multiple facilities.
- Communicates with brokers, carriers and drivers to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
- Generates daily reports reflecting container status and outbound loads.
- Manages empty equipment and movement between facilities and carriers.
- Manages outbound shipments to customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution Team.
The requirements
- High School Diploma
- 1-3 Years related experience
- Work requires occasional light physical effort (several times a week).
- Significant exposure to one disagreeable condition OR occasional exposure to several disagreeable conditions/one very disagreeable condition.
- Little or no exposure to hazards; very limited risk of injury or health problems.
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with customs highly desired
- Good verbal and written communication required
- Basic Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced and team-oriented environment
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for a majority of work day
- Hearing required in order to hear instructions, safety warnings, etc.
- Vision required to operate a keyboard and to complete required data entry
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English language effectively
