Harness Assembly Lead

Freeman Boatworks builds some of the most respected offshore catamarans in the industry. We are seeking a Harness Assembly Lead to support and guide electrical harness production while maintaining high standards for quality, consistency, and revision control. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on precision, structure, and accountability. What You’ll Do
Harness Production
- Support and guide daily harness builds
- Ensure all builds strictly follow released drawings and specifications
- Maintain build board discipline (routing accuracy, breakout points, service loops, clamp placement)
- Oversee kitting by hull number and confirm completeness prior to build start
- Stage completed harnesses with proper protection and documentation
Build Standards & Quality
- Enforce strip length, crimp methods, seal insertion, cavity loading, and connector identification standards
- ·Ensure all harnesses are built to the current released revision and properly identified
- Ensure 100% automated pin-map testing with documented results and traceability
- Review tester reports and proactively address recurring quality concerns
- Conduct crimp verification and oversee pull-test sampling to maintain workmanship standards
Process Support
- Provide structured feedback to improve repeatability and installation efficiency
- Assist with troubleshooting and root cause investigations
- Implement approved drawing revisions and process updates
Technician Support
- Train and support Harness Technician on build standards and tooling discipline
- Provide second-person verification on first builds of new or revised harnesses
- Reinforce accountability and consistent workmanship standards
Who You Are
- 3–5+ years of experience in marine, automotive, aerospace, or industrial harness production
- Experienced with Deutsch DT/DTM/HD connector systems
- Able to read schematics, harness drawings, and connector cavity maps
- Skilled in crimping, termination, seal insertion, and loom assembly
- Familiar with automated harness testing and continuity validation
- Prior lead or senior technician experience preferred
- ABYC Marine Electrical certification or working knowledge of ABYC standards a plus

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and work at assembly benches for extended periods
- Fine motor skills for precise crimping and termination
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 lbs
