Job Description

You balance planning with actions. You effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels. You define issues and can map out a process. You drill down to root causes to gather relevant information. Provide guidance and direction required to execute the team manufacturing plan. Coordinate product flow and assign work as needed to keep productivity high and scrap at minimum. Operate machinery and equipment where practical or critical need exists, especially for training purposes.

Essential Duties

  • Understand the production schedule and set the pace with operators to complete work on time
  • Manage the overall budgetary responsibilities and activities of the department.
  • Implement systems that perform the work and fulfill the standards that have been set and the goals of the department efficiently and effectively.
  • Plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and accomplish the work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of Freeman processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
  • Make decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with Freeman policies and procedures.
  • Review performance data to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness.
  • Manage the maintenance of DMS Production Boards necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
  • Communicate regularly with other managers, plant manager, vice president and other designated contacts within the organization.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
  • Maintain Production records, such as, hours worked, overtime hours, cross-training, productivity, quality, etc. Consistently administer the labor agreement and lead efforts to improve performance.

  • Previous experience and ability to evaluate employees, provide written and verbal reviews, and other various managerial responsibilities
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong machining experience, including both CNC and manual machines.
  • Eastman C135 Conveyor Cutting System· Onsrud 145M12D CNC Router
  • Ability to teach machining skills and consistent track record to drive process improvement.
  • Strong leadership skills; including being disciplined, assertive, and having a high energy level to meet safety and production performance goals.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid digital literacy including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) as well as MS Outlook.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
