Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our CNC (Computer Numerical Control) department. The Material Handler will be responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and organization of materials required for CNC machining operations. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth flow of production and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

- Material Handling: Transport raw materials, parts, and finished products to and from the CNC machines and designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.

- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and report discrepancies to the supervisor. Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of materials.

- Receiving and Inspection: Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and quality against purchase orders and packing lists. Inspect for damages and report any issues to the supervisor.

- Storage and Organization: Maintain an organized and clean storage area for all materials. Ensure materials are stored in a safe and accessible manner, following company protocols.

- Production Support: Supply CNC operators with the necessary materials and tools to meet production schedules. Assist in setting up and removing materials from CNC machines.

- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of material movements, inventory levels, and related documentation. Utilize inventory management software to update records as needed.

- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and participate in safety training sessions.

- Team Collaboration: Work closely with CNC operators, production planners, and other team members to ensure smooth production operations. Communicate effectively to resolve material-related issues.

- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving material handling processes and contribute to implementing efficient workflows.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Experience: Previous experience as a material handler, warehouse worker, or similar role in a manufacturing or CNC environment is preferred.

- Equipment Operation: Proficient in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Forklift certification is a plus.

- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling and documenting materials.

- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.

- Organization Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills for inventory management and documentation. Familiarity with inventory management software is a plus.

- Safety Awareness: Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment.
