QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN

Freeman Boatworks, recognized around the world for quality, performance and comfort, is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Freeman family. You will be responsible for ensuring that the quality standards of finished parts are maintained and improved.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure parts are cut and finished to quality standards
- Inspect surfaces for bubbles, cuts, mold marks, gouges, etc.
- Inspect parts to determine what repairs are needed
- Document progress and identify improvement opportunities
- Maintain transparent and clear communication
- Verify boat matches build specifications
- Recommend adjustments per department to improve quality
- Test, measure, and inspect parts being produced
Previous experience with gel coat and/or paint repairs is preferred
- Experience working with fiberglass or in auto body repair is preferred
- Familiarity with mixing gel coats and/or paint with activators is preferred
- Good working knowledge of repair tools (sanders, buffers, spray equipment)
- Detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines in a fast, paced environment
Physical Requirements:
Including, but not limited to
- lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, stretching, squatting and bending
- May require working in awkward positions or tight spaces for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
- Exposed to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and some outside weather conditions
- May be exposed to acetone, resin, fiberglass, putties, glues, cleaners
