Job Description:
Position Responsibilities:
- Hands on development of all program and project management documents per proven program and project management methodologies.
- Manage and lead the functional/non-functional requirements gathering process
- Prepare Business Case materials as needed.
- Coordinate with USPS Program Manager and USPS stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Coordinate with Project Sponsor over program vision and promote that vision to other internal organizations.
- Finalize development of a comprehensive roadmap and program plan for all related activities which will be presented to users. Review and finalize schedule and tasks to reflect milestones pertaining to implementations.
- Update USPS Program Manager and others on overall program status.
- Create WBS, project management plans and project schedules for various projects
- Coordinate group activities related to group mission
- Coordinate schedules across various stakeholders to move the group's agenda
- Provide advice and improve on program management techniques and best practices.
- Maintain deployment and implementation project management responsibilities for coordinating sub-project activities, including stakeholder management, scheduling meetings, etc.
- Lead, facilitate, and summarize project, coordination, and implementation meetings.
- Update program and project documentation such as maintaining the action task list.
- Manage and mitigate risks.
- Participation in evaluation of impact analysis of implementation on mail recovery center operations.
- Build/develop visualization tools of collected data.
- Work with other on-site personnel to summarize and report daily collected MRC-destined mail trailer and container volume to support overall program project objectives.
- Work with other USPS personnel to access systems to collect, summarize, and report complement related data to support strategic projects.
- Update USPS Program Manager and others with summarized data using trend and other data analyses tools and methodologies.
- Develop training tools and SOPs/WIs related to developed data visualization tools.
Duration of position is expected to be a year
Required Skills:
- US Citizen or Green Card holder and must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Ability to research, analyze and provide recommendations to Program Manager
- Experience in playing a key role in a large-scale Postal project(s).
- Extensive experience in conceptualizing, planning, and executing projects.
- Proven experience and ability to bring together various stakeholders to work towards a common goal.
- Thorough knowledge of project management and Lean Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with managing extensive program schedule consisting of multiple strategic projects.
- Understanding of mail flow and Postal operations.
- Intermediate to Expert level of MS Project, Microsoft Word, MS Excel PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (MicroStrategy, PowerBi, etc.).
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively to project teams and senior management on issues involving postal initiatives.
- Ability to coordinate multiple events in a fast-changing environment.
- Support high-level analysis of the impact to existing standards, key policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Execute and monitor the projects to ensure that desired results are produced to close identified gaps.
- Intermediate to Expert level of MS Project, Microsoft Word, MS Excel PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (MicroStrategy, PowerBi, etc.).
- Ability to use Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook .
- Ability to mine data and perform data analyses.
- Ability to communicate results/data to various users/levels.
