JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of the class is to perform a variety of advanced and complex clerical work in the preparation and maintenance of department records, to perform a variety of clerical tasks as assigned, and to always provide professional and courteous customer service. The class is given a general outline of work to be performed and is free to develop work methods and sequences; work is reviewed periodically by the supervisor.
This position is located at the Orangeburg office location.Duties
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides services that are focused on the individual and/or all relevant systems affecting the defendant’s ability to achieve successful juvenile diversion completion.
Conducts criminal history research and other case management duties and responsibilities for juvenile cases.
Performs administrative duties including basic typing, scanning, creating files, filing, answering telephones, taking messages, copying, computer operation, data entry and review.
Accepts and processes applications for the Pre-Trial Intervention Program for juvenile cases.
Accepts fees from and issues receipts to program participants.
Provides information to the public, law enforcement agencies, victims, and all applicable courts as necessary.
Prepares information for submission to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division as needed.
Creates and/or maintains associated documents and databases, arranges/coordinates meetings and special events.
Updates supervisor of critical issues/events.
Prepares and files required metrics and regulatory reports.
Audits and ensures the security and confidentiality of files as appropriate.
Reviews records and forms, verifies information, and resolves complex problems.
Prepares complex and confidential legal correspondence, memoranda, reports, etc.
Operates a personal computer and appropriate software packages or its equivalent pertaining to departmental activities.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.Qualifications

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Requires at least two (2) years of related work experience.
Additional Requirements
Special Qualifications:
Paralegal certification preferred.
Victim Service Provider certification preferred.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but employees must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Employees must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays during emergencies or as requested.
