JOB PURPOSE |
This position is responsible for preventative maintenance activities throughout the facility. The PM Maintenance Technician will perform scheduled maintenance on equipment, handle general mechanical and facilities duties, and ensure all machinery operates at peak efficiency. The PM Maintenance Technician will document all maintenance activities per established procedures and must follow all procedures along with strict adherence to the Quality System.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
Adhere to all Safety Principles.
• Adhere to all Quality System Standards.
• Fill equipment with necessary fluids (oils, lubricants, coolants, hydraulic fluid, etc.) per manufacturer specifications and PM schedules.
• Perform light general mechanical duties including inspection, adjustment, and minor repair of production equipment.
• Perform light general facilities duties including minor repairs and upkeep of the building and grounds.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all coolant tanks, including monitoring fluid levels, testing concentration, skimming, and flushing per established schedules.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all chip conveyors, including cleaning, inspecting, lubricating, and replacing worn components as needed.
• Document all maintenance activities, inspections, and fluid top-offs in the maintenance log system.
• Examine equipment and compare findings with maintenance records to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Keep work areas, maintenance stations, and storage areas clean and orderly.
• Assist in on-the-job training of other employees.
• Participate in Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery improvements.
• Adhere to guidelines and procedures to ensure the safe handling, removal, and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Any other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS |
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and understand Safety Rules, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and equipment manuals.
• Ability to identify and use common fluids and lubricants per equipment specifications.
• Ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, and other material moving devices.
• Ability to complete routine maintenance forms and logs (e.g., PM checklists, fluid logs).
• Ability to communicate effectively with work groups and maintenance teams.
• Ability to apply problem solving techniques to troubleshoot and implement corrective action.
• Forklift truck training certification preferred.
• Three to six months maintenance, manufacturing, or warehouse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS |
Work is performed in an operational manufacturing warehouse environment. Specific job assignments may require day, evening, weekend, or holiday hours. Overtime may be required to meet production needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, using hand and power tools, as well as handing paperwork. Team members will be lifting objects weighing 50 lbs. or less regularly.
