We are looking for a talented Production Scheduling Coordinator - Level III to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for our Cummins Inc. facility in Ladson, SC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Deliver reliable, customer-focused production schedules by aligning demand, sales forecasts, capacity, and new business opportunities under minimal supervision.
  • Optimize end-to-end material flow by coordinating raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods strategies with Materials, Operations, and Customer Service.
  • Support a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to HSE standards, reporting incidents or hazards, and actively participating in required training.
  • Strengthen quality outcomes by following standard work and quality procedures, performing master data checks, and supporting Plan for Every Part (PFEP) accuracy.
  • Enable on-time delivery by creating realistic daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules and managing approved changes within established time fences.
  • Minimize production risk by proactively identifying and addressing constraints such as downtime, material shortages, bottlenecks, and routing or kitting issues.
  • Drive schedule attainment by analyzing performance data, communicating effectively with cross-functional partners, and holding Logistics and Operations teams accountable.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by participating in quality, safety, process, and material flow initiatives while maintaining flexibility to meet evolving business needs.

Under minimal supervision and in accordance with Cummins Delegation of Authority Policy, plans and establishes production schedules to meet customer demand. Develops production schedules in accordance with sales forecast, plant and employee capacity, and new business opportunities. Works to align and optimize raw material (RM) stocking strategies with Material Planners, Work In Process (WIP) with Operations, and Finished Goods (FG) stocking strategies with Materials and Customer Service.

Compensation (for United States)

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The

final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s

qualifications and experience, where appropriate.


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Leverage the materials planning system as the primary tool to balance supply and demand, resolve exception messages through root cause analysis, and support informed decision-making.
  • Manage part change control activities by evaluating and implementing engineering changes while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory and protecting customer delivery commitments.
  • Apply Plan for Every Part (PFEP) principles, to ensure the right part is available at the right time, quantity, and location across the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Translate master production and demand plans into effective capacity strategies by identifying constraints, evaluating options, and negotiating schedule or resource adjustments to meet ATP commitments.
  • Drive supply chain performance by establishing and maintaining a valid master production schedule, interpreting materials KPIs, and balancing trade-offs to improve operational and customer outcomes.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience in an equivalent field such as materials planning, production scheduling, manufacturing, or inventory control. 5-7 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
