We are looking for a talented Controls Technician to join our team specializing in Production Support and Troubleshooting for our Cummins Turbo Plant in Ladson, South Carolina.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Performs skilled activities which support manufacturing business needs. Selects and uses appropriate tools, machinery, and specialty equipment.
Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and coach others.
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

Support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis.

Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system.
Follows all process documentation and quality procedures.
Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures.
Performs quality inspections.
Fully proficient performing skilled activities expected by their roles in accordance with defined roles and responsibilities.
Instructs and coaches others and acts as an informal resource for team members with less capability.
Performs and documents preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.
Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as required to meet production goals.
Work with peers and support staff to: Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and improve processes, participate in continuous improvement activities.
Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams.
Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements.
Participates actively with local Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams in ways to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.
Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays).
Experience with compressors/hydraulics systems (e.g., hydraulic presses).
Experience with conveyers (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls).
Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)
Experience with electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, etc.).
Experience with kinematics (e.g., line speed/sprocket size ratios, etc.).
Experience with PLC (e.g., industrial maintenance, computer control systems, etc.).
Experience with pneumatics (solenoids, cylinders, motor brakes, reading, troubleshooting).
Experience with preventative maintenance (computerized preventative charts/data).
Experience with schematics (e.g., electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays).
Experience with SERVO (e.g., intelligent/robotic motors, in-coders, etc.)
Experience with troubleshooting (e.g., diagnostics, problem solving, etc.).
Experience working in team-based environments (working together with others).
We intend to train the candidate on 1stshift for 3 months and followed by a split shift for next 3 months. The training plan is not rigid and open to candidate’s flexibility and skill set.
This is a 2ndshift position and may need weekend work depending on production needs.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
