Overview:

Cullum Mechanical, a trusted name in mechanical construction and maintenance for over 50 years, is seeking a highly skilled Plumber with a minimum of 7 years of experience to join our fabrication and pipe shop team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a controlled shop environment, focused on pre-fabrication, layout, and pipe assembly for commercial and industrial HVAC and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and shop fabrication drawings.
• Perform layout, cutting, threading, assembling, and welding of piping systems (carbon steel, copper, PVC, stainless, etc.).
• Assemble and install plumbing and mechanical piping components per project specifications.
• Collaborate with shop foreman and project managers to meet deadlines and fabrication schedules.
• Maintain quality control and ensure compliance with applicable codes and safety standards.
• Perform pressure testing and inspect finished assemblies.
• Operate shop tools and equipment safely (threaders, welders, benders, saws, etc.).
• Keep detailed records of material use, fabrication time, and progress.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of professional plumbing experience, preferably in commercial or industrial settings.
• Strong experience in pipe fitting, fabrication, and mechanical plumbing systems.
• Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and fabrication prints.
• Experience with steel, copper, PEX, and other piping systems.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented shop environment.
• Must possess or be able to obtain OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 preferred).
• Journeyman or Master Plumber license preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet throughout the day.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
