Job Title: Delivery Driver for Local Mechanical Contractor

Job Type: Full-time

Working Hours: 7:00am – 3:30pm with periodic overtime to be expected.

Job Description: We are looking for a driver to join our team! You will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery of materials to job sites. Early starts may be required to ensure delivery is made on time. Deliveries may extend beyond normally scheduled shifts to ensure equipment is returned to the company main office. No overnight travel is anticipated.

***A current driver’s license, in accordance with the REAL ID Act, is required to initially qualify and must be maintained. A loss of the SC driver’s license could result in loss of employment. A CLEAN driving record and a background check is required for base access. Ability to obtain Medical Examiners Certificate is required*

Duties Include:

• Communicating with shipping personnel at vendors to identify discrepancies on shipping tickets, ensuring materials listed on purchase orders are the same as what is picked up.
• Speaking, reading, and writing in English using legible print.
• Recognizing and being able to read part numbers on materials and packages, and translate information on company forms and documents.

Loading and unloading truck(s) to include:

1. Occasionally lifting 40 – 75 lb with proper lifting techniques.
2. Occasionally lifting 75 – 100 lb with assistance.
3. Regularly lifting up to 40 lb with proper lifting techniques without assistance.

Demonstrate capability to safely maneuver the following equipment:

• Pickup truck
• Van
• Small stake body truck
• 24’ stake body truck

Requirements:

1. Capable of learning and earning a certificate to drive additional equipment as identified for unloading trucks, including, but not limited to: 6000 lb Fork Lift, Lull, Man-lift, etc
2. Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
3. Maintaining the ability to receive access to government or military facilities for delivery of materials. (Secret Clearance is not required).
4. Backup for shipping/receiving as assigned by supervisor, and attend to other duties as assigned.
5. Employee must provide personal wear work boots suitable for construction environment including protective toe at employee’s expense.

Pay is dependent on experience: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
