Senior Network Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team building and operating a next-generation, multi-cloud cybersecurity system that spans AWS, Azure, on-prem, and edge environments. This system integrates advanced commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms with custom-developed solutions to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable cyber defense capabilities. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the connectivity and routing fabric that enables seamless communication across multiple environments. You will ensure secure data transport, efficient subscriber onboarding, and resilient interconnections between multiple cloud environments, on-prem sites, and core cyber defense hubs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and configure network infrastructure across AWS, Azure, on-prem, and hybrid environments, including VPCs, VNets, subnets, security groups, NSGs, and peering.
• Engineer secure interconnectivity using IPsec tunnels, VPNs, and Transit Gateways to enable packet transport.
• Implement and maintain routing strategies that ensure performance, scalability, and resiliency across a system-of-systems composed of multiple cloud providers.
• Support telemetry and cyber tool integration, ensuring that data flows securely and efficiently across environments.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers and DevSecOps engineers to codify network deployments using Terraform and Ansible.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and security, resolving issues related to connectivity, latency, and configuration.
• Contribute to security compliance by applying DoD standards, DISA STIGs, and Zero Trust principles in network designs.
  
  

Required Skills

• Active Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, Security Groups) and Azure (VNets, NSGs, VPN Gateway, Peering).
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (e.g. IPsec, BGP, TLS, ect).
• Experience implementing VPNs, IPsec tunnels, and multi-cloud interconnectivity.
• Proficiency with IaC/CaC tools (Terraform, Ansible) for network provisioning and configuration management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across network layer.
• Familiarity with network security principles and applying Zero Trust models.
• Must hold or be eligible to obtain an active TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Elastic, Zeek, Suricata, or Tenable integrations from a network/telemetry perspective.
• Familiarity with cross-domain solutions and secure data transport in DoD environments.
• Exposure to automation pipelines (GitLab CI/CD) for deploying and validating network changes.
• Knowledge of DISA STIGs, RMF, and DoD network security compliance.
• Hands-on with packet capture and network monitoring tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, NetFlow).
• Experience supporting SOC/NOC operations by enabling network visibility and telemetry delivery.
