Electrical Engineer – Automation

Description
Reporting to the Engineering Director, the incumbent is responsible for analyzing, proposing, and implementing efficient business processes to support all activities from sales through product installation. The role also provides support to the team in the general engineering of optimization products.
Key Responsibilities
The Electrical / Automation Engineer will be responsible for:
- Supporting designers in equipment design by performing engineering calculations as required;
- Improving the electrical and networking ergonomics of our products (computer cabinets, electrical panels, etc.);
- Participating in CSA certification activities for our machines and conducting related research;
- Validating the selection of components used in equipment and, when necessary, researching new electrical, computer, and networking components;
- Analyzing equipment constraints and operating conditions;
- Supervising machine prototype testing to verify proper operation and compliance with technical specifications;
- Conducting durability and reliability testing on components, including environmental chamber testing (temperature, vibration, waterproofing, etc.);
- Investigating the root causes of electrical, networking, or unexpected operational failures;
- Recommending product improvements and modifications to enhance performance and reduce manufacturing costs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering;
- Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is considered an asset;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English.

Working conditions
- Office-based position with a hybrid work arrangement;
- Occasional travel required;
- Indirect supervision of team members.
