| Job Purpose | Reporting to the Manager of Archival Services, the Reference and Exhibition Coordinator serves as a forward-facing team member in the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture within the College Libraries. This position is responsible for providing reference services to students, faculty, and the public using archival collections, rare books, and other related materials. They will assist with patron requests at the reference desk as well as remote reference queries. The Reference and Exhibition Coordinator will assist with Avery Research Center exhibition and engagement efforts and is responsible for writing content for the Avery Research Center’s website, communication platforms, and broader College publications in support of the Libraries’ mission and vision. The Coordinator will work closely with the Archival and Interpretation Team, as well as the Outreach and Public Programming Coordinator to select and interpret materials for Avery Research Center exhibits. This position also digitizes and describes Avery Research Center’s materials to increase visibility and accessibility. |
| Minimum Requirements | Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 1-3 years of experience in a library, archives, historical society, or museum. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. |
