| Job Purpose | The Office Manager for the College of Charleston Upward Bound program is responsible for the day-to-day clerical and administrative support for the program. This employee provides administrative support for a team of full and part-time personnel. Under limited supervision, coordinates routine and special projects required for the successful completion of program goals and objectives. |
| Minimum Requirements | High school diploma; some college preferred, and three years administrative/secretarial experience. Bachelors Degree given preference, may be substituted for work experience for the right candidate. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. |
| Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | High functioning knowledge of Windows 7 or above, and Microsoft Office: especially Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook. Knowledge of /experience with Blumen software data program a strong plus. Strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to multitask and prioritize in a quick, efficient manner. Ability to establish good rapport with various segments of the college, the general public and the communities and schools targeted by the grant. Must be willing and able to work select weekends and travel occasionally. During annual performance reports and grant renewals overtime is often required. Ability to problem-solve and manage a wide range of issues. Ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 30 pounds, particularly for supply deliveries. Ability to walk about campus for various administrative duties. |
| Additional Comments Regarding Position | *Position is funded by federal grant monies from the U.S. Department of Education and contingent upon annual renewal.This is a temporary grant position exempt from grievance rights. This position is funded by other than State monies, continuation contingent on renewal of funding. Employee will be provided opportunities to participate in TRiO professional development programs and trainings, some professional organizational fee are covered and other professional development opportunities. Ideal candidate will enjoy engaging with students and building relationships in a mentoring capacity beyond immediate job description. Candidate will engage fully in team building and culture, and willingly offer input and ideas for program needs, innovation and growth. |
