| Job Purpose | Residence Hall Director provides oversight, facilitates student development and growth, provides education, counsel, and training as-needed, and oversees administrative tasks for assigned hall. |
| Minimum Requirements | A bachelor’s degree and previous work experience in a college or university setting are required. A master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Student Personnel, Counseling, or Leadership is preferred. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. |
| Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | The Residence Hall Director position requires a strong desire to work with students and the ability to foster a positive living/learning environment. A high energy level, self-discipline and control, commitment to students, strong work ethic, knowledge of self, ability to work under pressure, time and stress management, flexibility, effective communication and leadership skill, good judgment and a sense of humor are critical. |
| Additional Comments Regarding Position | This position requires the staff member to live on campus in a college-provided apartment. Amenities include a furnished apartment with utilities, and internet. Parking is available for a fee. |
