Job Purpose
Supervise and work with a crew of groundskeepers in the performance of their duties.
Minimum Requirements
Must have a High School diploma or GED. Must have two years of experience in grounds maintenance, with at least one year in a supervisory position. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have thorough knowledge of all phases of landscape work. Must have knowledge of proper use and care of power and hand tools. Basic knowledge of irrigation systems is preferred. Must be able to direct, assign, and motivate others. Must be reliable and responsible. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of OSHA regulations preferred.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
Must be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather and be in good physical condition to perform duties as described. Some work after normal hours and call back may be required. Required to be on campus immediately following all emergencies such as hurricanes, floods, etc. A valid SC driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment is preferred.

1. Supervises and works with a grounds maintenance crew in the performance of their duties, which include maintaining lawns, flowerbeds, shrubbery, etc. Ensures mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, mulching, seeding, planting and transplanting are properly completed according to maintenance schedules and as needed.
