| Minimum Requirements | Applicants must have their Ph.D. in hand by August 2026 and must have completed their Ph.D. no earlier than 2021. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply. |
| Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities | Candidates whose research focuses on any aspect of Jewish and Israel studies, broadly defined, within any of the relevant disciplines of the humanities or social sciences are welcome to apply. We specifically encourage applicants who are prepared to teach the ancient and/or modern Jewish history surveys and offer courses in the area of Israel studies. |
| Additional Comments Regarding Position | The Arnold Family Fellow will teach two courses, or sections, per semester within the Jewish Studies Program. The Fellow will devote an equal share of their working hours to their own research agenda, while maintaining an active role in the intellectual, civic, and cultural life of the Jewish Studies Program. To best fulfill these tasks, the Fellow is required to reside in the Charleston area and work out of the Jewish Studies Center, where office space will be provided. The Arnold Family Fellow will receive a competitive stipend, benefits package, and a modest support budget.
