Additional Comments Regarding Position | The Outreach & Public Program Coordinator is responsible for all issues concerning public programs, including marketing and communications. This position fosters and maintains mutually beneficial programming between the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture and other College of Charleston departments committed to promoting/supporting Avery’s mission, which is to collect, preserve, and promote the unique history and culture of the African diaspora. The coordinator promotes and co-facilitates all campus outreach activities including student, faculty, and community workshops and lectures (co)sponsored by the Avery Research Center. *The candidate filling this position may be eligible for healthcare benefits. |

Job Duties
Activity | Creates and implements the marketing and communications campaign for the Avery Research Center using print and electronic formats. Designs, writes, and manages production and other marketing strategies to promote support and utilization of Avery. Collaborates with the libraries’ personnel and Marketing and Communication department on the coordination of the overall design and content of communication materials including newsletters, articles, press releases, flyers, brochures and social media messages for the Avery Research Center and College libraries. Manages the development of the Avery Research Center’s website and social media platforms. Ensures all content is current and accurate. |
