Position Description
The Department of History at the College of Charleston welcomes applications for a full-time Instructor position, with a start date of August 16, 2024. Ph.D. in U.S. History required. The teaching assignment is 12 credit hours per semester (four 3-credit-hour courses) in U.S. History. Instructors undergo a review for promotion to Senior Instructor in their sixth year and are reviewed for renewal every seven years after promotion. Senior Instructors are eligible to apply for sabbaticals. Instructor responsibilities include a commitment to teaching excellence, maintaining a program of professional development, and providing service to the department and College. All requirements for the Ph.D. in History must be completed by August 15, 2024.
