Human Resource Talent Specialist


Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, the HR Talent Specialist will facilitate the daily functions, of the Human Resources (HR) department, associated with the full lifecycle of employment, including Talent Acquisition, Pre-Boarding, Onboarding, Off-Boarding, and assisting in all HR functions as needed. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage and update position management system, ensuring accurate maintenance of job titles, descriptions, and organizational structure.
  • Oversee the job requisition process, ensuring timely and accurate posting of job openings across platforms.
  • Facilitates the hiring of job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to coordinate onboarding sessions.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory new hire training.
  • Assists departmental leadership with conducting background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Process electronic I-9’s. Track all new hires/re-hires/transfers to ensure that all necessary HR, payroll, and I-9 paperwork has been received and processed before the employment start date.
  • Coordinates new hire onboarding (1st & 15th of the month) and quartely orientation
  • Coordinators employee recognition programs.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Support department managers in executing exit procedures and conducting exit surveys to ensure a smooth offboarding process.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Benefits leads to ensure seamless coordination of employee benefits during onboarding and offboarding.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required or equivalent HR experience.
  • 2 years of Talent Acquisition experience or equivalent
  • Must have Higher Education HR experience and/or experience with HRIS Paycom (Preferred)
  • HR Certification is a plus.
