Summary

Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President for Spiritual Life and Campus Pastor, the Director of Women's Ministry serves as the spiritual leader for students on campus, providing strategic oversight for programs that support the spiritual growth, empowerment, and holistic development of all students, with specific attention given to our female students, faculty, and staff. This role focuses on cultivating a vibrant Christian community, offering pastoral care, and facilitating opportunities for fellowship and spiritual formation among students at CSU.


Work Performed

Strategic Leadership & Vision
• Work with the AVP for Spiritual Life and Campus Pastor to develop and implement the mission, goals, and vision for ministry initiatives, aligning with CSU's overall spiritual life objectives.
• Lead and mentor various ministry teams, graduate assistants, and student leaders, fostering leadership development among students.
• Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for various ministry programs and events.
Spiritual Formation & Fellowship
• Plan and lead regular gatherings, Bible studies, retreats, and special events, promoting spiritual growth and community.
• Coordinate guest speakers and worship leaders for events, ensuring diverse and enriching experiences.
• Support student-led ministry teams and discipleship groups, providing resources and encouragement.
Pastoral Care & Community Engagement
• Offer pastoral counseling and spiritual support to female students, faculty, and staff, maintaining a visible and approachable presence on campus.
• Collaborate with various departments (e.g., Counseling Services, Residence Life) to support students in crisis and ensure a supportive environment.
Partnerships & Outreach
• Cultivate relationships with local churches, women’s ministry leaders, and community organizations to enhance outreach and support.
• Mobilize students for service projects, missions, and ministry opportunities, fostering a culture of service and engagement.
• Represent CSU at relevant conferences and workshops focused on ministry and leadership.
Student Leadership Development
• Mentor students for spiritual leadership roles within the campus community, encouraging inclusive ministry efforts that welcome students at all stages of their faith journey.
• Assist with initiatives related to student leadership development, including workshops and leadership retreats aimed at empowering students.
Required Skills and Attributes
• Strong commitment to Christ-centered servant leadership and the empowerment of women in ministry.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Sensitivity to the spiritual needs of all students, particularly those who may feel marginalized or underrepresented.
• Specific gifts and passions for discipleship and/or missions, including experience in leading outreach initiatives, organizing mission trips, or guiding discipleship programs.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from a Southern Baptist Seminary or related field preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in women’s ministry, pastoral, or campus ministry roles.
• Active member of a Southern Baptist Church; willingness to join an SCBC Church in the greater Charleston area.
• Demonstrated success in both curricular and co-curricular ministry settings focused on student development and formation.
