Landside Operations Specialist II

SUMMARY
The Landside Operations Specialist II, reporting to the Landside Operations Supervisor, is responsible for the fast and accurate processing of parking lot tickets ensuring the proper collection of fees, while complying with department rules and regulations. The Specialist also is responsible for working the Ground Transportation booth, which assists passengers in obtaining ground transportation services to local destinations. This position differs from the Specialist I, in that the incumbent is a seasoned Specialist I and is called on to perform the Supervisor’s Role, when one is on leave or absent for their shift. Enforce the rules and regulations governing Ground Transportation services. The Specialist II works in a collection booth, meeting and greeting parking lot users, and collects parking fees appropriate for the vehicle and stay. The Specialist also works the Ground Transportation booth assisting customers in obtaining proper services. The Specialist may work a designated shift or a rotating shift. The position provides 24/7 coverage. The specialist II can perform the duties of a Supervisor, when required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs the duties of a GTO supervisor, when one is absent and on an infrequent basis. When not performing as a Supervisor, the Landside Operations Specialist II, performs the same duties as the Specialist I.
Landside Operations Specialist I Duties:
Collects and processes parking fees, while ensuring the amount is correct.
Greet customers in a professional manner and provide accurate information to customers regarding Ground Transportation services.
May provide basic information to customers as to directions and destinations.
Perform License Plate Inventory as needed.
As required, assists with express lanes, office duties, stock room, semi-annual taxi inspections, collections of taxi and charter monthly fees, and processing of ACE employees.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet overall objective of the position and the department in support of the CCAA Mission.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
The position requires a thorough knowledge CCAA LO parking regulations and fee structures for a variety of users. The incumbent must be able to use the computerized equipment for determining, collecting, and recording fee collection. The Specialist should have a basic knowledge of directions and destinations to assist users in navigating their way from the airport environment.
ABILITIES
Requires the ability to communicate orally clearly and concisely with Landside Operations users. Must be able to handle parking fee or related disputes with customers who may be unfamiliar with the CCAA fee structures or regulations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed indoors and outdoors where some safety considerations exist from proximity to moving cars and trucks and environmental considerations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The position typically requires 1-2 years’ experience; a high school diploma is required.
Must have been employed with CCAA for at least one (1) year.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Requires a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires the ability to function indoor in an office environment and outdoors engaged in a tollbooth or extending standing while working at the taxi booth. Work is of a sedentary nature while working in the booth and one of standing and minor walking when working the Taxi Ground Transportation booth. Requires ambulatory ability to move to different work locations and to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. Requires arm, hand, and finger dexterity to and use a computer keyboard and other office equipment. Requires the ability to wear a variety of protective equipment and work in areas with temperature variations. Requires near and far visual acuity to observe moving vehicles and people read written materials. Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations in person and over the phone, including the ability to project voice in noisy work settings.
