HIRING SALARY RANGE: $56,0513 - $74,006 (Estimated Annual Salary)

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities: The CDC HR Generalist position provides human resources support to the Charleston County Consolidated 9-1-1 Center (CDC) department. This position provides support to the department in the areas of employee relations, compensation, and benefits as well as providing leadership to the administrative services team.

Job functions include:

  • Provide support to the department regarding employee compensation issues and ensuring consistent methodology is used and consideration is made in respect to external competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Assist in answering questions and assisting employees with County Benefit programs.
  • Coordinate employee relations for the department to ensure that the policies and procedures for the department fall within County policies and procedures and that these policies and procedures are administered fairly and equitably in the department.
  • Provide supervision, support, and leadership for the Administrative Services Coordinator and Administrative Assistant II positions.
  • Oversee, track and evaluate the use of leave and accommodations to ensure adherence to applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in departmental activations during emergency events

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a positive attitude, proven leadership experience, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate well to a diverse group of people.

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Progressively responsible professional HR experience working in several different HR areas or working in a specialt HR and assisting in several different HR areas.
  • Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management, Personnel & Labor Relations or Management preferred
  • Certification in Human Resources (PHR, SHRM-CP or – SCP, HRCI, or equivalent)
  • Must maintain a current NCIC certification or obtain NCIC certification within 6 months of employment.
