HIRING SALARY RANGE: $45,052 - $58,988

Duties and Responsibilities

Position Overview:
Reports To: Elections Manager
Education: Associate’s Degree or higher required
Certification: State certification within 18 months
Status: Full-TimeCore Responsibilities
Election Equipment & Technology
- Prepare and test voting equipment (ExpressVotes, DS300s, DS450s, DS850s, DS950s) for each election cycle
- Create and install election-specific technology
- Test and configure Electronic Poll Books
- Track serial numbers, seal logs, and ballot stock for security compliance
- Assist with delivery, setup, and retrieval of all voting equipment for Early Voting and Election Day
Precinct Operations & Logistics
- Analyze precinct-specific voter data to determine equipment allocations
- Manage and support Polling Location Technicians, including troubleshooting on Election Day
- Secure and process equipment and materials returned post-election
Training & Support
- Support training sessions for Poll Managers and Polling Location Technicians
- Prepare hands-on training materials and technical guides
Documentation & Data Management
- Maintain and update technical manuals and training resources
- Archive ballots, machine tapes, and election records in accordance with policy
- Assist with post-election processes such as recounts and runoffs
Post-Election Operations
- Receive, sort, and secure returned precinct materials
- Organize supplies for secure storage following the protest period
- Conduct ADA compliance assessments of polling locations
Other Duties
- Cross-trained to assist in all divisions within the Board of Elections office
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support election operations

What You Bring
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Ability to learn and operate ES&S voting systems and related technologies
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and perform under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-focused mindset
Work Environment & Schedule
- Must be available for extended hours, including evenings and weekends during election periods
- Must be able to lift and transport equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Position requires both office and field work
